Children's Quizzing

What We’re About:
Children’s Bible Quizzing has been created for children 6 to 12 years old, or in school grades 1-6. Children in seventh grade, regardless of age, cannot participate in Children’s Quiz. The quizzing calendar is based on the September-June school year. It is important that children wishing to participate start as close to the beginning of the school year as possible, so they don’t fall behind the other quizzers.

The Children’s Bible Quizzing program is on a six year cycle. The children will study Acts (2012-13), Genesis (2013-14), Exodus (2014-15), Joshua, Judges, and Ruth (2015-16), 1 & 2 Samuel (2016-17), Matthew (2017-18).

When We Meet:
The children meet for Bible Quizzing during Sunday School. Occasionally, optional practice sessions will be scheduled during the week at various times/locations and will be announced during class. These practice sessions are usually held the week or two prior to a quiz meet.

There are several inter-church quiz meets during the school year. The meets in November and January are considered “practice” meets for the “qualifying” meet in March. If a quizzer scores well enough at the March quiz meet, he/she can attend a district (state) quiz meet in April. If a quizzer does well at the district quiz, he/she can attend a special end of year quiz that is by invitation only. Ribbons and trophies are routinely awarded to all participants in Children’s Quizzing.
